I am proud to announce that I am officially a certified Zumba instructor!
I took the 8 hour training course yesterday and still cannot move today! The course was in Olive Branch, Mississippi, about an hour and a half drive from Jonesboro. There were a lot of people who drove further than me, so I can’t complain!
All in all, there were about 55 people there getting their certification and we all had a lot of fun! You know you’re going to have a blast when everyone in the room loves Zumba as much as you. It was physically exhausting, I won’t lie, but I loved it and would do it again in the future! Our instructor, Maria Browning, inspired envy in every woman in the room. She was ah-mazing!
The day started with a 45 minute master class which is like a typical Zumba class, except it is being led by a ZES (Zumba Education Specialist). It was pretty awesome because the YMCA reserved the aerobics room for us and we ended up fogging the mirrors up! I wish I had taken a picture of that!
When we came in, there was an entire table set up with snacks. Half the table had water and the other half had bananas. There were also about 15 boxes of cereal and trail mix bars. They were so accommodating! It was also funny because nearly everyone brought bananas for a snack anyway. I guess great minds don’t want to have leg cramps! 😉
I am very excited about the opportunities available to me now that I am an instructor, but for the moment, I can’t see past the pain in my muscles! Haha! I don’t really know what I want to do with my certification yet, but you can rest assured that I will let you know as soon as I figure it out!
Here are some pics from the training and the surprise I received when E came to pick me up after:
As I said, I’m not teaching right now, but you can see my instructor profile here. Check back for updates!
